ComancheeCuster-GrabillLR

Comanche was the lone survivor of  General George Armstrong Custer’s 7th cavalry regiment after the Battle of Little Big Horn.   It’s safe to say he stunned nearly everyone when he was spotted 2 days after the battle, wounded 7 times but still kicking.

It was said at the time that Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull discussed shooting Comanche an 8th time but they feared that would only anger the immortal beast.

Comanche lived until 1890 (15 years after the battle) and is one of only two horses in United States history to be buried with full military honors because he walked away from Custer’s Last Stand.

ESPN:  Patriots still seeking identity

Sports Illustrated:  Tom Brady’s had a storied career, but what if he never gets back?
